Styled Shoot: Farmhouse Elopement

We've been dying to share these images with you, but had to sit tight until Southern New England Weddings had published them. Now that the cat is out of the bag, we can share with you some other beautiful images from the day!

It's no secret we're huge fans of Joe Laurin and his gorgeous photography, so when he asked us to be a part of a styled shoot he was putting together, we immediately said yes. In just a few short weeks we brainstormed with Joe, Jennie Kay, her gals from The Beauty Pin, and Kim from Greenlion Designs to come up with this fabulous shoot at the Paradise Farmhouse at The Norman Bird Sanctuary.

Joe had already secured a date with the Norman Bird Sanctuary, so we knew the location was going to be stunning, we just needed a concept and story to match. We all tossed a few ideas back and forth on Pinterest and then sat down for a brainstorming session together at Jennie’s studio, where the creative energy really started to flow. Together, we settled on a Modern Boho Elopement, a private celebration that showcased the beauty and colors of Coastal Rhode Island. We wanted to stay true to the outdoor setting of the Norman Bird Sanctuary without creating something that was too rustic. The colors were kept neutral with just a few pops of tangerine and different shades of peach and blue.  The Beauty Pin styled the models perfectly, stepping away from typical bridal fashion and offering an alternative gown and a casual look for the groom. Our tablescape was simple with a natural wood farm table topped with custom chambray linens and white enamel dinnerware. We accented the table setting with modern color blocked menu cards and hand painted feathers. Everything came together when Kim arrived with her beautiful arrangements. She created a centerpiece, full of orange and pink hues nestled in a vintage mercury glass vase; and handed the bride a show stopping bouquet that accented everything perfectly.

It is so amazing to be able to see something that started out as a few emails and sketches in notebooks turn into a beautiful collection of images that truly shows our vision. Enjoy!
